Terms of use
Last updated 1 September 2026
These terms cover your use of The Alpha Ledger ("Alpha Ledger", "we", "us"). They are written to be read rather than skimmed, because an agreement nobody understands protects nobody.
1. What Alpha Ledger is
Alpha Ledger is a trading journal and analytics product. It records trades you have already made and analyses them.
Alpha Ledger is not a broker, not an investment adviser, and not a signal service. It does not execute trades, hold client money, or tell you what to buy or sell.
2. Not financial advice
Everything Alpha Ledger produces — metrics, detected mistakes, AI coach answers, reports, simulations — is educational analysis of data you supplied. None of it is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and none of it is a recommendation to enter or exit a position.
Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Past performance is not indicative of future results. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, and we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
One person per account. Sharing an account is not permitted; if you want someone else to see your journal, use a mentor-mode read-only link.
4. Broker connections
Alpha Ledger connects to brokers read-only, using investor passwords and read-only API keys. There is no mechanism through which Alpha Ledger can place, modify or close an order.
You must not supply a master password or an API key with trading or withdrawal permissions. If you do, you do so at your own risk and against our explicit instruction.
5. Accuracy of data
Alpha Ledger calculates from the data you import or sync. If that data is incomplete or wrong — a missing stop-loss, an incorrect contract size, the wrong server timezone — the analysis will reflect that.
Prop-firm rules in our directory are recorded from published sources, are marked unverified, and change frequently. Always confirm current rules with the firm before trading. We are not responsible for a failed challenge.
Market data from third-party providers is supplied as-is. Where no provider is configured, Alpha Ledger uses a synthetic price engine that is clearly labelled as such and must not be relied on for any decision.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Premium is USD 19 per month or USD 190 per year. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply in your jurisdiction.
New accounts receive a 7-day Premium trial with no payment details required. The trial ends automatically and nothing is charged.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page and will keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. If Alpha Ledger is not for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- resell, sublicense or white-label Alpha Ledger without a written agreement
- attempt to access another user’s data, or probe, scan or test the security of the service
- use automated tools to place load on the service beyond the published rate limits
- upload content that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to upload
- use Alpha Ledger to provide financial advice to others while implying it comes from us
8. Your content
Your trades, notes, screenshots and plans remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and do not sell or share your trading data.
You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service: to store your content, process it to produce the analysis you asked for, and transmit it back to you.
We may use fully aggregated and anonymised statistics — for example, "the median profit capture across all journals is 54%" — to improve the product and to write about trading. Nothing that could identify you or your positions is included.
9. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Brokers, market-data providers and payment processors are outside our control and can fail independently.
We may change or discontinue features. If we remove something significant, we will give reasonable notice and make sure you can export your data first.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alpha Ledger is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, failed prop-firm challenges, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
11. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless prevented by law.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
If we change them materially we will email you and note the change on this page. Continuing to use Alpha Ledger after a change means you accept it.
